Are you simply frustrated with the lack of progress you have been making in your pursuit of a lean and healthy body? It’s not surprising in today’s world with the amount of temptation we see in advertising and the wealth of ambiguous information that is available. Quite simply where do you start? Or, do you succumb to the latest exercise or diet fad?
==> Your Ultimate Weight Loss System <==
The list goes on…. I should know – I bought the t-shirt (and many of them). What made it more frustrating for me personally was that all along I knew what it takes to achieve a lean physique. I knew about the exercises that worked and the nutrition plan that supported it. But over the years, with excuse after excuse, and the usual procrastination, I just ended up piling on the pounds.
Now this is not an article on the psychological affects of being overweight – but I was quite simply amazed at the lack of self-esteem I had. I didn’t like myself anymore – I didn’t like the look of myself in the mirror. I lacked confidence in anything I did (or tried to do) – it affected my work, my relationships, my hopes & dreams….just about everything. It all just kinda crept up on me.
Hmmm…..it was time to get back to basics. How did I do it when I was younger? Quite simply, I applied some principles – straightforward ideas that worked. They worked then and they work now.
Let me share this Simple Weight Loss System with you.
Create a new lifestyle using systems. If you are not thinking of a lifestyle change to create your new lean body, then you are already in trouble. If you are going to do the same as what you have always done, and then guess what – you are going to get the same result. You need to eliminate the variables in your life and to do this you need to find out what they are (how much you eat, what you eat, what exercise do you take, etc.) and write them down. Once you do this, you will quickly realise that a making a small temporary change just ain’t going do it! A lifestyle change is essential. Ask any successful person how they became successful and one word will typically reoccur time and time again – SYSTEMS. You need to develop a proven and successful weight loss system.
Exercise at high intensity. That’s right – no more 30+ minute low intensity sessions on the treadmill every day of the week. They just don’t work – they don’t create a fat burning system. You may burn fat during the exercise, but you are also programming your body to store fat so that it can be burned the next time you step onto the treadmill. Instead, pick up the pace with high intensity resistance training for 15-20 minutes and repeated 2-3 times per week. This creates your ultimate weight loss system.
Focus on the right nutrient rich foods. Forget diets – they simple don’t work. By their very nature, they are temporary. Like it or not, the big issue with those trying to create their lean body, is that they consume too many calories. What you need to create is a nutrition system and there is no better way than focusing on those nutrients that your body craves. I am talking here about the foods that satisfy your hunger and satisfy your body – unrefined whole grains, beans, legumes, vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds.
Know the numbers. You need to know what works. You need to know how well you are burning fat and how your lean body is developing. You need to track performance – quite simply you need to know your numbers. As such, you need to measure how well your strength and endurance is improving at each workout. You’ll also need to measure your body fat percentage. Forget the scales – they measure weight loss. What you’re interested in is FAT LOSS. Measure, record and monitor your numbers!
Be surrounded with positive people. This one is sooooooo underestimated. You think you are in total control and the words and actions of others around you don’t (and cannot) influence you. Sorry to tell you, but this is wrong! The people around could be making you fat – and that includes your friends and family. Don’t ever listen to people that tell you that you will never succeed in your fat loss goals. You need to be able shield yourself from this negativity or just surround yourself with positive people to ensure you are able to continuously work on your weight loss system.
Get yourself a mentor. “What? I don’t need one,” I hear you say. May be you are able to reach your fat loss goals without one, but it certainly makes the path faster and easier if you do. A coach or mentor is able to show you the way. They are someone who has been in a similar position, someone that you look up to as a role model (and motivates you) and someone that provides emotional support. Look at the great athletes and businessmen and women – do you really think that there success is all down to them/
Don’t just talk about it, take action. There are two types of people in life – those that talk about it (and think they know it all), and those that just do it. Talkers are the dreamers. They think of all kinds of excuses as to why things didn’t work out for them (they’re also going to tell you why it isn’t going to work out for you). Now before we move on, take a look at yourself – take a look at your past. How have you faced up to various challenges? How did those situations turn out? You need to eliminate the talker-mentality within you, and this takes practice and repetition. If you want to achieve success with this weight loss system, then you must become a doer.
That’s it – your Simple Weight Loss System. Follow these principles and you will be well on your way to a lean physique. I’m sure you have more questions – I certainly hope so. That demonstrates a desire to improve your knowledge and to find out what works.
